A beautiful two-faced kitty owned our hearts with her perfectly different black and grey facial hair, which probably has something to do with having different DNA on each side. The stunning cat has a bright grey and black fur separated on the center of her face with a nearly perfect line.
Cats with this appearance are identified as chimera cats, and in mythicism, a chimera is a beast created up of several animals (yes, rude description). Though, according to Leslie Lyons, a professor at the University of California, Davis, who examines the genetics of indoor felines, chimeras are more familiar than you think.
Female kittens like this one, really have two X chromosomes, so they can be born with a two-toned fur with that lack of X. To find out if a cat is truly a chimera, Leslie announces that it needs a genetic testing.
She said: ‘We can do a DNA fingerprint test just like on CSI and the DNA of one side of her body should be different than the other side.’
Away from the scientific justifications, we think that this cat is really amazing.
